Scholars Exploring San Jose Sharks' Career Opportunities

LEAF is thrilled to share some fantastic news about an exciting event that recently took place in our beloved city of San José! 📍 Picture this: the infamous SAP arena, the thrilling presence of our very own Sharkie, and a group of eager, first-generation Latinx students from East San José.

Held at the infamous SAP Center, this Career Day was an opportunity like no other for our LEAF students. Our community's rising leaders gathered to network, soak up invaluable advice from accomplished Latinx professionals, and explore job openings right in their own backyards. The event featured insightful panel discussions, where successful Latinx leaders shared their stories, hurdles, and experiences as Latinx professionals in San José. It was an electrifying day where inspiration met opportunity, and we couldn't be more proud of our students!

But the real magic was in the connections made. Our talented students had one-on-one time with potential employers, leaving with fresh contacts, a wider network, and real prospects for exciting careers right here in San José.

The synergy of our community's promising talent and the support of the San José Sharks Foundation and SAP made it an unforgettable day, and we can't wait to see the bright futures it has set in motion.

This partnership follows an $85,000 grant donated to LEAF during the Sharks Foundation’s Latinx and Hispanic Heritage campaign in collaboration with SAP. This grant will catalyze our career exploration and discovery program to support scholars and young professionals best prepared to reach their dreams.
