Understanding Latinx Students, First-Hand: Chris Lopez is ready to help. Here's why.
Career <> Passion
Chris is an East Side San Jose native. His role at LEAF will allow him to combat the specific community adversity - breaking into higher education - that he’s already conquered.
Lopez is a recent UC Berkeley Economics graduate. He spent a year working in compliance consulting for Greyline Partners, recent recipient of the 2021 HFM U.S Service Award in the Best Technology Firm (Newcomer category). There, he provided day to day compliance support for advisers of hedge, venture, and private equity funds.
Before consulting, he spent time at SAP SuccessFactors, a San Francisco-based human experience management (HXM) company. Chris built enterprise, high-growth sales pipelines from the ground up, matching executive and senior audiences with solutions that facilitate effective data processing across organizations.
Lopez’s consulting experience has left him with transferable problem-solving frameworks that will help communicate clear, concise solutions to LEAF Scholars and cross-functional teams alike. His recent experience navigating higher education and entering the workforce gives him invaluable insight into what our Scholars and Mentors are experiencing and will experience in the near future.
Being an East Side San Jose native, Chris has a personal connection with helping Latinx students accomplish their goals in higher education, and understands first-hand the adversities facing Latinx in Silicon Valley hoping to break into higher education. LEAF is thrilled to have him join the team!
